THE BEATDOWN MEETS HUGO MUDIE

Born of an unlikely encounter, the music produced together by The Beatdown, a pillar of the Canadian reggae scene, and Hugo Mudie, of the punk rock groups The Sainte-Catherines, Miracles and Yesterday’s Ring, is “a tribute to the liberating spirits that are present as much in punk as in reggae” (Voir, 2015). A unique ska-inflected dub, at the boundaries of punk’s nonchalance and reggae’s irresistible grooves.
