THE PLACE DES FESTIVALS IS HERE

As planned, the Place des Festivals is finally ready to welcome the festivals, all summer long.

Its official launch will take place on September 7, when the landscaping is complete and the fountains have been calibrated. Still, the mayor of Montreal will present a glimpse of the full capabilities of the fountains during next Sunday's launch ceremony for the Place. The completion of the Place des Festivals is the first phase of the project to enhance public spaces in the Place des Arts node. This effort will also include the construction of the Promenade des Artistes and the Parterre in 2010, Sainte-Catherine Street in 2011, and the Esplanade Clark in 2012.
