Experience the city’s largest refrigerated ice rink for free, immersed in a festive and enchanting setting. The 1,500 m2 rink holds up to 400 skaters and features dance nights, musical interludes, and cultural events throughout the season. Every night, interactive video projections illuminate the ice for a truly unique experience.

Free cultural programming on ice
The atmosphere is always electric on the rink! Music-filled skating sessions, ranging from classical to disco, add a rhythmic touch to your time on the ice. During the holiday season, Quartier des Spectacles comes alive with a magical and festive lineup. Want to learn how to skate? Several beginner sessions are held weekly by the regional figure skating association, Patinage Montréal. It’s the perfect place to share memorable moments with loved ones.
The pavilion: a warm haven for skaters
Before and after skating, winter sports enthusiasts can take refuge in the Esplanade Tranquille Pavilion, where they'll find not only the Patin Patin counter, changing rooms and lockers, but also spaces for relaxing and interacting with others: the Repaire, the Grand Salon and the Café Tranquille (yum, a nice hot espresso), as well as balconies with heated floors! The locker room remains open 30 minutes after the rink closes. Please note that all locks are cut off at midnight every day.

THE AU BORD DU LAC TRANQUILLE PROJECTION
From November to January, the ice becomes a giant screen on which the interactive projection Au bord du lac Tranquille is projected. A visual experience inspired by Quebec's Northern identity and by our land of lakes and rivers by the thousands. The interactive, immersive work of art follows the regular rhythm of the skaters’ blades slicing through the ice.
