Bagel Burlesque Expo

We are very proud to bring to you the Bagel Burlesque Expo, the 1st neo-burlesque expo hosted in Montréal where we celebrate beauty under all its less traditional forms!

What do we mean by neo-burlesque? It's an art form whose performances include stripping using a non-classic burlesque style. It usually combines theater, humor, geek inspirations or weirdness to make us feel many different feelings.

Why the "Bagel Burlesque Expo" name? We had the desire to be original with the content of our festival but also with everything about it including the name. We chose the word "bagel" because Montreal is proud of its bagels that are part of the city's identity and our breakfast today :) This is because of the jewish immigration waves from Eastern Europe that happened during the 20th century (for more information about Montreal and its bagels : https://www.thecanadianencyclopedia.ca/en/article/montreal-bagels/ )! For the word "burlesque", well... this is the art form we are presenting to you :) And finally "expo", in honor of the Universal Exposition of 1967 that happened in Montreal!
