SAT - Société des arts technologiques
Founded in 1996, the Society for Arts and Technology (SAT) is a creative laboratory open to all audiences and communities whose mission is to develop digital culture. It is the only venue in Montreal that brings together under one roof an immersive theater (the Satosphère), a research lab, a training center, a concert hall, a café and a restaurant. The first immersive theater dedicated to artistic creation, the Satosphère features a spherical projection screen that invites creators to explore new conceptual territories. With its dome measuring 18 meters in diameter and 13 meters high, its 8 video projectors and 157 loudspeakers, the Satosphère places the audience at the heart of the audiovisual experience, helping to make the SAT a unique broadcasting space in the world. What’s more, its strategic alliance with MUTEK, whose headquarters it houses, consolidates its status as a vibrant hub for digital arts and culture.
