Montreal, April 25, 2024 – The Quartier des Spectacles Partnership is pleased to announce the composition of its board of directors for 2024-25. The election of directors took place at the annual general meeting on April 26. During the meeting, the Partnership highlighted last year’s projects by presenting its 2023 annual report.

The Partnership’s board comprises 20 directors from the cultural, socio-economic (business, tourism, education) and community sectors. The board has 14 members elected at the annual general meeting and six members appointed by the board.

This year, eight directorships in three categories were open for election. The cultural-sector positions were filled by: Guilhem Caillard (Festival Cinémania), André Dudemaine (Terres en vues), Simon Gamache (Fierté Montréal), Joseph Nakhlé (Festival du Monde arabe), and Ève Paré (ADISQ).  In the business, tourism and institutions sector, the vacancies were filled by: Kerlande Mibel (Forum économique international des Noirs), and Geneviève Touchette (Le Central). Then, in the category representing an association of residents or a community organization from the Quartier des Spectacles, Jorge Herrera (Table de concertation du Faubourg Saint-Laurent), was elected by acclamation. The Partnership thanks all members who stood for election and the directors for their generous involvement. The Partnership salutes Manon Blanchette (Cinéma Impérial), Madeleine Careau (OSM), Marc-André Fortin (Table de concertation du Faubourg St-Laurent), Dany Gauthier (Mouvement Desjardins – Services immobiliers Desjardins), David Lavoie (FTA), Line Thériault (Juste pour rire) and Luci Tremblay (Montréal en Histoire), who completed their terms on the board this year.

2023, A STRIKING AND EXCEPTIONAL YEAR

The 2023 Annual Report faithfully describes the objectives, projects and initiatives of the Quartier des Spectacles Partnership, listing and presenting them in accordance with the four axes of development of the 2022-2026 Strategic plan : cultural liveliness, land use planning, a Quartier that forges bonds, and enhancing the Quartier’s local and international profile.

ABOUT QUARTIER DES SPECTACLES AND THE PARTNERSHIP

The Quartier des Spectacles is Montréal’s cultural heart, boasting North America’s most concentrated and diverse group of cultural venues as well as numerous festivals and events. The Quartier also hosts innovative urban installations involving cutting-edge lighting design and immersive environments. The Quartier des Spectacles has become an international showcase for digital public art.

The Quartier des Spectacles Partnership, founded in 2003, is a non-profit organization with more than 85 members active in the district. It is responsible for animating the Quartier des Spectacles by programming cultural activities, managing and animating public spaces, providing distinctive illumination and promoting the Quartier as a must-visit cultural destination. The Partnership benefits from the support of the Ville de Montréal.
